I built Melophrase because I always felt like language learning was harder than it needed to be. It often feels like something you have to sit down and force yourself to do, and most people don’t stick with that.

I didn’t feel like I had the time to properly engage with an app, read, or take lessons. Then I became a dad, and I needed something I could use hands-free, in the background of everyday life.

Music has always been around as a way to learn languages, but Melophrase takes it a step further: the songs in our CEFR library are selected specifically for language learning, so they are clear, structured, and actually help things stick.

The idea is simple: something you can come back to little and often, without it feeling like effort.
